The complexities of family law are not to be taken lightly. At Grand Strand Law Group, LLC, our services include name change, custody, and divorce.
Contested Divorce
Divorce or dissolution of marriage is the final termination of a marriage, canceling the legal duties and responsibilities of marriage and dissolving the bonds of matrimony between two persons. A divorce does not declare a marriage null and void, as in an annulment, but divorce cancels the marital status of the parties, allowing each to marry another. The legal process for divorce may also involve issues of legal separation, spousal support, child custody, child support, distribution of property, and division of debt, though these matters are usually only ancillary or consequential to the dissolution of the marriage. However, if the parties disagree on any of these matters, the divorce will be considered a "contested" divorce.
Uncontested Divorce
In the case of an uncontested divorce, we can provide the necessary assistance to draw up all of the legal documents to put your agreement in writing and then file all documents necessary to obtain the divorce and approval of your agreement. This is becoming the most common form of divorce due to the economy today.
